Sali PU Foam is a high-performance, one-component polyurethane expanding foam sealant designed for professional and DIY applications alike. This versatile Sali PU Foam is engineered to expand upon contact with air, filling and sealing even the most irregular gaps, cracks, and voids in walls, around window and door frames, and where pipes and cables penetrate buildings. The Sali PU Foam formulation provides excellent thermal insulation and air sealing properties, helping to reduce energy costs and improve indoor comfort by preventing drafts. It also acts as an effective soundproofing barrier and provides a measure of fire retardation, depending on the specific product classification. With its user-friendly applicator gun and easy-to-clean properties before curing, Sali PU Foam makes sealing projects faster, cleaner, and more efficient. Once cured, Sali PU Foam becomes a rigid, durable, and moisture-resistant material that can be trimmed, sanded, and painted over to achieve a seamless finish.

What is the Expansion Rate and How Much Do I Need?

A critical question for users is understanding how much the Sali PU Foam will expand. This product is typically a low-expansion foam, meaning it expands moderately after application (often 2-3 times its initial volume) to fill cavities completely without exerting excessive pressure that could distort window or door frames. The yield of a standard 750ml can of Sali PU Foam can fill a linear gap of approximately 30-40 feet, depending on the gap size and depth. It is always recommended to fill the gap by one-third to one-half with Sali PU Foam, allowing the expansion to do the rest of the work and prevent wasteful overflow.

 Is This Foam Suitable for Both Indoor and Outdoor Use?
Yes, the Foam is formulated for versatile application both indoors and outdoors. Once fully cured, Sali PU Foam is resistant to moisture and weathering, making it suitable for exterior applications like sealing around exterior door frames, siding, and roof eaves. However, because ultraviolet (UV) rays from sunlight can degrade the foam over time, any Sali PU Foam used outdoors must be protected with a coating of paint, sealant, or trim once it has been trimmed flush. For indoor use, Sali PU Foam is perfect for insulating around window frames, sealing penetrations in attics and basements, and soundproofing interior walls.

How Do I Apply and Clean the Foam Before It Cures?
Applying Sali PU Foam requires a dedicated foam applicator gun for the best control and results. After shaking the can vigorously, attach it to the gun and apply the foam in a slow, steady bead into the gap, starting from the bottom and moving upward. The key to a clean application with Sali  Foam is to work in small sections. If you get any uncured foam on your skin or surfaces, it can be easily wiped away with a specialized PU foam cleaner or acetone before it hardens. Once Sali PU Foam cures (which typically takes a few hours, depending on temperature and humidity), it can only be removed mechanically by cutting or sanding.

What are the Fire Safety Properties?

 How Long Does It Take to Cure Fully?
The curing time for Sali PU Foam depends on environmental conditions like temperature, humidity, and the depth of the application. Typically, the foam will be tack-free within 15-30 minutes and will form a skin. It can usually be trimmed within 1-2 hours. However, for Foam to cure completely through its entire thickness, it may take 4-8 hours or more. Higher humidity actually accelerates the curing reaction of the  Foam. It’s important to allow adequate time for Sali PU Foam to cure fully before applying any sealants or paints over it.
