Core Specifications

The 12cm height features a tapered, turned profile that is wider at the top and narrows toward the floor. The taper lowers the center of gravity while maintaining a substantial mounting surface. The 12cm height suits sofas, armchairs, ottomans, footstools, TV stands, and low cabinets. It provides enough clearance for cleaning underneath while keeping seating comfortable.

Material and Finish

Manufactured from solid hardwood such as rubberwood, beech, or oak with a durable gold lacquer or metallic paint coating. Hardwood holds screws securely, resists splitting under load, and does not compress over time. The gold finish is applied in multiple coats for a uniform, reflective surface. The finish seals the wood against moisture, preventing swelling and warping.

Mounting Mechanism

Most legs feature a pre-installed mounting plate or threaded insert at the top. The mounting plate attaches to the furniture frame with four screws, and the leg threads into the plate by hand. This system allows quick installation, easy removal, and the ability to swap legs later. Some variants use a bolt-on design with a hanger bolt threading into a T-nut in the frame.

Load Capacity

A set of four legs properly mounted can support 150kg to 300kg depending on wood species and frame integrity. The tapered profile distributes stress along the wood grain, avoiding weak points. The mounting plate spreads load across a wider area, preventing screw pull-out and frame deformation.

Usability and Maintenance

Installation requires only a screwdriver for the mounting plate. The gold finish is easy to clean with a soft damp cloth. Scratches can be touched up with gold metallic paint. The threaded insert can be lubricated with wax or soap if legs are removed and reattached frequently.

Applications

Suitable for sofa and couch restoration, armchair repair, ottoman builds, TV stand upgrades, dresser and cabinet replacement legs, and DIY furniture projects. The gold finish suits glam, Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, and contemporary interiors. Order today and deploy immediately with zero configuration.
