Flat connector plate
Flat Metal Connector Plate.
The Type F Flat Metal Connector Plate is a professional-grade, flush-mounting faceplate. It is engineered for permanently installing audio, video, and data connectors into standard UK electrical back boxes.
This 1.5mm thick steel plate features a precision-flat face with a durable satin nickel plated finish. Flat connector plate provides a sleek, low-profile appearance that seamlessly blends with contemporary interior designs. It offers exceptional resistance to corrosion and daily wear.
Designed to fit BS4662 and BS1363 pattern flush or surface mount boxes with a minimum depth of 31mm, this Type F connector plate transforms generic electrical enclosures into custom patch points.

Flat connector plate
The plate is supplied pre-drilled with Universal/ D mounting holes at 24mm centers. Flat connector plate includes all necessary plate fixing screws and connector mounting hardware.
Connectors are ordered separately. This allows you to configure the exact combination of inputs and outputs required for your specific installation.
Flat connector plate delivers the rugged reliability, aesthetic consistency, and installation flexibility demanded by professional integrators.
What is a Flat Connector Plate and How is it Different from a Standard Electrical Faceplate?
A standard domestic faceplate is designed for a single, specific function. A flat connector plate, conversely, is a blank canvas professionally finished faceplate.
It is specifically engineered to accept industry-standard panel-mount connectors. This plate allows you to create custom wall-mounted interfaces for balanced audio lines, loudspeaker outputs, digital video, or network signals in any combination you require.
Unlike recessed or beveled plates, the flat profile ensures the Flat connector plate sits perfectly flush with the wall surface. This provides a clean, unobtrusive finish that is also easier to keep clean.
What Materials and Finishes Are Available?
The Flat connector plate is manufactured from 1.5mm sheet steel or brass. This offers substantial rigidity that prevents flexing when inserting and removing heavy-duty connectors.
Satin Nickel is a hard-wearing electroplated finish with a subtle, brushed appearance. Flat connector plate is highly resistant to fingerprints and corrosion. It is recommended for most commercial and high-use residential applications.
Polished Brass is a traditional, high-gloss finish that develops a rich patina over time. Many Polished Brass variants are now discontinued or manufactured to order.
Painted finishes are available in Pure White and Jet Black. These feature an eggshell semi-gloss finish for a perfect match to standard décor.
How Many Connectors Can I Mount on One Plate?
These Flat connector plate are available in multiple gang sizes to accommodate different connector quantities. A 1-gang plate accepts 1 or 2 connectors.
A 2-gang plate accepts up to 4 connectors. A 3-gang plate accepts up to 6 connectors. A 4-gang plate accepts up to 8 connectors.
What Back Box Do I Need and Why is Depth Critical?
To achieve a professional, code-compliant installation, the Type F plate must be mounted on a suitable back box. It is recommended to use boxes with a minimum depth of 31mm.
Standard shallow 25mm boxes often do not provide sufficient internal volume. They cannot accommodate the rear body of panel-mount connectors and cable dressing. For installations requiring additional space, 47mm deep flush boxes are available.
Flat connector plate is essential to specify deep boxes to the installing contractor if they are being installed prior to your arrival on site.
What Connectors Are Compatible and What Do I Need to Order Separately?
CRITICAL: This plate does NOT include any audio, video, or data connectors. The Flat connector plate is supplied with mounting holes and the associated hardware.
The connectors themselves must be ordered separately. Universal/Neutrik D mount at 24mm centers is compatible with Neutrik XLR, Speakon, BNC, and 1/4 inch jack connectors.
Keystone with a 50mm by 25mm aperture is specifically designed for this purpose. It accepts standard keystone jacks from many manufacturers.
What is the Installation Process?
Installation is straightforward. First, the appropriate connectors are mounted onto the plate using the included hardware.
For blank plates requiring custom cutouts, users must take extreme care when punching mounting holes. Ensure only the male part contacts the front face to avoid damaging the lacquered finish.
The Flat connector plate is then secured to the pre-wired back box using the included countersunk fixing screws. This completes the installation.
