WD-40 350ml multipurpose use spray

Core Formulation

WD-40 Multi-Use Product was originally developed in 1953 to protect missile outer skins from rust. The name encodes its primary function: Water Displacement, 40th formula. It penetrates stuck parts, displaces moisture, lubricates mechanisms, and protects metal from rust and corrosion. The 350ml aerosol delivers convenient, portable application.

Technical Specifications

This light amber liquid has a mild petroleum odour and is immiscible with water. The formulation contains petroleum-based hydrocarbons for penetrating and lubricating properties, along with corrosion inhibitors that leave a protective film. It operates effectively from -50°C to 150°C. It is non-conductive with a dielectric strength of 38,000V per 2.5mm.

Application Scenarios

WD-40 penetrates rusted bolts and nuts for loosening without breaking or stripping. It lubricates squeaky hinges, sticky locks, and sliding mechanisms. It displaces moisture from electrical connections, ignition systems, and battery terminals. It removes grease, grime, adhesive residue, and scuff marks. It protects tools, garden equipment, and machinery from rust during storage.

Usability and Application

Shake the can before use to mix components. Use the attached straw for precision work or without it for broader coverage. The can may be held upright, at an angle, or upside down. For stuck parts, apply generously, allow penetration for several minutes, then work the part back and forth. Excess product can be wiped away.

Safety and Storage

This is a flammable aerosol and must be kept away from heat, sparks, open flames, and hot surfaces. Store in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children. Avoid prolonged skin contact. Wash hands after use. Do not ingest. Patch test near painted surfaces as the product may stain some finishes.
