What material is the cutting wheel made of?

Will this cut thick glass and mirror?
Yes, this cutter is suitable for glass thicknesses ranging from 2mm up to 12mm. It is also effective on mirror backing and ceramic tiles. However, it may struggle with tempered glass, which shatters rather than breaks cleanly.

The base of the handle often features a rounded “knocking ball.” Instead of using breaking pliers, you can tap the underside of the glass along the score line with this ball to open the cut.
